Carreg Coetan

Carreg Coetan

Hidden in a residential cul-de-sac in Newport, you will find Carreg Coetan - an ancient burial chamber. Linked back to the Neolithic era, this area has previously been the site of a number of excavations where ancient artefacts and human remains have been discovered. Legend suggests that King Arthur once played the game quoits (the throwing of rings onto an upright peg) with the stone from this monument.
