7 Prendergast is a beautifully renovated stone cottage, situated in the heart of Lower Solva, nestling into the side of this pretty wooded valley, just a short walk from the picturesque harbour, water and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. This stunning traditional cottage offers contemporary comfort and style with an eclectic mix of rustic antique pieces. The hallway gives plenty of space for walking boots and coats, it leads with 1 step down into the spacious kitchen/diner with bespoke modern, fitted, kitchen, the centre piece is the wonderful Aga for cooking and wooden dining table. Off this lies up 1 step, a very practical galley style utility area and door to the rear terraced garden, accessed via a number of metal steps. While the garage gives ample space to store bikes, kayaks and even a small boat, so perfect for outdoor and water sport enthusiasts.

The living room is ideal for relaxing with a wooden floor, beams and large wood burning stove to snuggle around on chillier evenings, French doors open to the steps to the elevated garden and stairs lead to the spacious bedrooms above nestling in the eaves with a Scandinavian simplistic beauty, white washed wooden floors and beams await with comfy beds and fresh white linen. One of the double bedrooms has French doors opening to the garden, steps up to the super elevated terraced lawn with decked patio, set above the roof tops it offers stunning views across the wooded valley and towards the harbour, enjoy leisurely alfresco meals or just an evening drink while you soak up the view and listen to the soothing sounds of the bubbling stream in the bottom on the valley.

Perfect for keen walkers, footpaths abound, join the footpath at the top of the garden which takes you downhill to the harbour in Solva and the small sandy in-let, children will love crabbing off the wall or a 15-20 minute walk will take you to Solva’s Woollen Mill, well worth a visit. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path from the harbour to explore this stunning coastline on foot, take advantage of the Puffin Shuttle bus for a lift back, there are a range of pubs, restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops all within a few minutes walk in Solva, be sure to try the Welsh cakes from Mamgu. Venture further afield with the wonderful, long, sandy beach at Newgale, popular with surfers, both beginners and professionals alike, you can hire equipment from the surf shop and take lessons, or enjoy refreshments from the beachside pub and cafe. To the west lies the famous tiny City of St Davids with an excellent range of facilities, do not miss the majestic Cathedral and Bishops Palace. Enjoy a boat trip from nearby St Justinians either around or land on the island of Ramsey, the bird and wildlife will amaze, particularly the seal pups in September. There are a range of beautiful beaches all within a short drive, one of the highlights has to be Whitesands beach.

• Access via single tarmac lane in heart of the village. • Property built into a cliff so garden is elevated above the property and access via 35 steel steps. • Two off road parking spaces. One on level concrete, the other in front of the garage on a slope. • Main entrance reached by a slight slope to the front door which contains a step into the entrance hall. External front porch light. • The garden is reached by four flights of external steel stairs with handrail. 35 steps in total. • The garden is flat, mostly lawn with a seating area. Woodland surround and views across the valley. • Ground floor facilities include downstairs cloakroom, sitting room, kitchen and utility. • The utility room is access by a small step up. The entrance from the utility room into the garage contains one step down. • There is an external back door in the kitchen leading out to the external steel staircase. • There are double patio doors leading from the lounge out to the external steel staircase. • Kitchen has extensive work tops, a breakfast bar with two bar stools and a farmhouse table with benches that seats six. Two-seater sofa in kitchen. • Smart TV in the lounge operated by remote control. • Stairs leading from the lounge up to the first floor. • One step up from the staircase into the landing, the family bathroom and the second bedroom. • Bath and shower in both the master ensuite and the family bathroom. • Double external doors lead from the second bedroom outside to access the terrace from the second flight of stairs.

The Bensons

We had a great stay here, our first time in the area and it was wonderful. The cottage is just perfect, with walking distance to great pubs and cafes. The coastal walks were also a highlight for us and Leia our Golden Retriever

The Clark Family

We have had a lovely week here in Solva. We have loved staying at number 7 - a beautiful cottage in a great location. Whitesands is a favorite of ours plus the bays either side. Blue Lagoon, Porthgain and St Davids all worth visiting. We had fantastic seafood platters from 'Something Fishy'; fab ice cream at Pointz Castle, lovely lunch at 35 Main Street in Solva but highlight for food has been the new restaurant 'Hats & Barrels' - booking is a must as already really popular!

We were looking for a dog friendly, quiet location with good walks and walking distance to the sea and it matched everything. Great location in lower Solva, everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Rooms were spacious and the showers were great.

Fabulous week with great weather, We walked the coastal path from Solva to Porthgain (Fish and chips at the Shed is great) The views during our coastal walks were amazing and the beaches were something else. A great place for a summer holiday.

Fabulous week with great weather. walked most of the coastal path from Solva to Porthgain. We really enjoyed fish and chips at the shed this was excellent. We loved the views, watching the surf and the great food in the local area. Thank you for the great stay in such a lovely cottage.

We have enjoyed our stay in this cosy and comfortable cottage, The weather wasn't great the whole time but this did not spoil our enjoyment as we wrapped up and explored the local village walking paths.

We really enjoyed our stay here it was amazing, we chose to stay here as it looked so beautiful in the images - The cottage was warm, cosy , clean and had a lovely garden the birds were constantly singing which was lovely it was also close to a local pub which was good for our evenings.

The perfect location and cottage for exploring Pembrokeshire!! Recommendations include The Ship Inn for a good pint of Ale/Guinness, Mamgu for Welsh cakes, Porthclais for a coffee and a swim in the harbour, TYF for kayak hire, Lobster from Mrs Will the fish (ring in advance 3-4 days to ensure you get one!) Cambrian for food, Solva harbour café for lunch & a swim & a prayer in the small Chapel near Porthclais. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home. We will be back!!
